Preoperative differences in soft-tissue malar height between the fractured and unfractured sides were measured as − 6.59 ± 1.74 mm. It was 1.56 ± 1.48 mm at 1 week, − 1.47 ± 0.33 mm at 1 month, and − 1.48 ± 0.34 mm at 3 months after surgery. There were statistically significant differences between the preoperative and 1-week and 1-month postoperative figures (p < .01). There were no statistically significant differences between postoperative 1 month and postoperative 3 months (p = .08). †There is the significant difference compared with the previous time (p < .01). p-value by paired t-test.
